To make matters worse, I’ve been told the I will have to email the surgery from hereon in for my re-order. This means that I still had to call the surgery to order the prescription.

I was told that upon registration and approval from my surgery, my prescription history would be pulled through to the app. The issue here is that this app is unable to fulfil some basic functions. In principle, I agree that technology should be used to reduce pressure on our nhs primary care services. My surgery has been very clear that they want all patients to use this app during the Covid-19 pandemic. Not good enough in this Pandemic Climate. The NHS is overburdened and underfunded, I shouldn’t feel guilty for wanting to see a doctor when I have serious health concerns. I insisted to be put through to arrange an appointment with my GP practice, which was agreed to only reluctantly. The second call was with an overworked and impatient person who started the call by listing the reasons why I wouldn’t get a referral anyway, tried to diagnose me via phone and prescribe other medication. On my first call I was prescribed medication that was delivered to a pharmacy that’s not even near where I live. Patients are gaslighted into thinking they’re probably overreacting and instead prescribed medication via a phone consultation rather than having an appointment with a GP. It’s hard to view this app as anything other than to keep patients from going to see a doctor. Thanks for registering and using the app. Please do something about this! At least please allow us to view notifications at all and any times! My GP practice closes Dr IQ consultations every day at around 1pm, and closes them all weekend.
